My first love for painting had only involved home decorating
especially my favorite the "Cottage Style". My passion to paint and
decorate every room in our house over and over again had just about
exhausted my poor husband Bill. Something had to give! He told me
ever so sweetly that I needed to find another source of decorating to
express myself. Well having a close friend as I do who decorative
paints and whose work I really admire. I decided I would give
decorative painting a try. So I purchased a few painting books from
one of our local stores and began the journey. In the spring of 2000
I began painting. After many hours of practice I found myself totally
consumed! By the fall of the next year I was painting for the local craft
shows and clients in our area. Which launched the beginning of my
decorative painting business "Cottage Charm Mailboxes & More".
Now being a self taught painter without any formal training, I am sure
I have probably broken just about every painting rule. But as you'll see
with my designs and my attention to detail that I truly have my own
distinctive style. My love for traditional elegance is very obvious in
each of my designs. My fondness for flowers and their beauty is also
evident. And I hope to add some manly touches to my designs very
soon, too. My designer hand painted decorative Mailboxes, Welcome
Signs & Watering Cans are unique one of a kind works of art. And each
item is custom painted upon order just for you! My overall goal is to
add beauty to an everyday functional item that we so often overlook.
I work full time from my home in Edna, Texas (a small town about 100
miles south of Houston) with my husband Bill, my youngest daughter
Taylor, my older daughter Jenna who is away at college and our three
babies..."Lil' Bit" the toy poodle, "KoKo" the dachshund and
"Whiskers" the kitty.
